Clover’s Little Big Cook Off reality television show (#CloverLBCO) encourages balancing the demanding work lifestyle with family time by cooking together.

Celebrity chef and #CloverLBCO judge, Chef Coco Reinarhz balances family time while maintaining a successful work life. Coco manages a workload that includes being a judge on the show and owning three trendy restaurants while maintaining relationships with three daughters and being a loving husband to his wife.

“I believe that the secret to a happy life is balance and, when you can’t find balance, you go to the golf course and name the ball whatever is bothering you!” says Chef Coco. “Cooking is the best way to have a family bond, whatever you do or create together. I always cook with my daughters Timorie (25), Noémie (23) and now I find that Annayah (11) is becoming increasingly interested in cooking, especially baking and pastry. We use the kitchen as a space in which to spend time together, share stories and create amazing meals.”

Food is such an essential part of life and families can use it as an opportunity to grow closer and learn new skills. Allowing children the freedom to explore the kitchen and learn how to cook not only imbues them with life skills they will always use, it also provides a space for families to stay together and balance work and life.

“It was a real privilege to watch how season one’s teams bonded and learned from one another, there is something magical about food and how it brings people together,” says Coco.

Coco’s passion for cooking was inspired by his mother and he has carried this tradition on in his three restaurants Sel et Poivre, Le Petit Sel and Le Sel @ The Cradle.

“I always say that my passion for cooking started before I was born,” he says. “It is a genetic condition! I was almost born in my mother’s kitchen as she was also a chef.”

The Clover Little Big Cook Off will return to South African TV screens on 28 June at 16:30 on SABC3. Entries to be on the show are closed but entries for the daily cash prizes remain until 30 September 2015.
