Clover Little Big Cook Off wins Best Game Show at SAFTAs 2015
Clover Little Big Cook Off wins the Best Game Show category in the ninth South African Film Television Awards (SAFTA’s) held on 20th and 22nd March 2015.
The #CloverLBCO AFP (advertiser-funded program), which was produced by Quizzical, South Africa’s leading film and television production house, was up against Cula Sibone, Nguwe, and Clover’s own Tropika Island of Treasure in this category. Because there were no nominations for the Best Game Show category in 2014, the last winners of this category were Jam Alley in 2013 (SABC 1) and Kom ons Karaoke in 2012.
“Clover dedicates the award to all the South African families who participated in and watched the show,” says Sherian King, Clover’s marketing manager: Dairy. “We knew that South Africans loved the show, but this accolade is a wonderful acknowledgement and demonstrates our continuous drive to be Way Better™.”
The 2015 awards, which was themed “Coming of Age”, enthralled celebrities, entertainment industry leaders and prominent officials in two star-studded evenings held at Gallagher Estate. Zama Mkosi, SAFTA’s chairperson said that the talent for SAFTA’s 2015 were very high.
“As a unique cooking challenge where children and their parents compete against other food-mad families on national television, the accolade goes a long way to boosting the interest in Season 2 of the show, which airs from the 28th June 2015,” says King.
Again teams will out-cook and out-whisk each other over thirteen weeks of baking, frying and spatula-waving action in a bid to become the champions and win fantastic prizes (including a family trip to Disney World and a kitchen makeover), countrywide acclaim and see their recipes published in another Clover Little Big Cook Off Recipe Book.
Entries for family team’s to participate in Season 2 are currently open and will close on the 15 April 2015.
