Dusi2c Kicks Off
The inaugural Dusi2c mountain bike race took place on 22 and 23 June.
The inaugural Dusi2c mountain bike race took place on 22 and 23 June. The organiser, Glen Haw (race director of Sani2c) added an exciting spin to the race by requiring teams to navigate solely by GPS and not by traditional markers en route. Riders of all ages and abilities were full of praise for the new event and the unfamiliar format of GPS racing. Two incredible days of mountain biking adventure followed with the end at the Blue Lagoon in Durban. The Dusi2c saw teams of two head from Camps Drift in Pietermaritzburg along the Dusi Canoe Marathon to Blue Lagoon in Durban, with close on 300 pairs tackling the two-day adventure through the valley of a Thousand Hills in 2013. As with all races, events are not possible without sponsors who make the riders’ stay and experience that much better. The organisers thanked all their sponsors for making this such a memorable event: Subaru, Talisman, Spur, aQuelle, Supergroup, Peri, and Clover for supplying vanilla Mmmilk and chocolate Super M, which has been found to be the best recovery drink for athletes.
