The SA Large Herd Dairy Conference is one of the most significant primary dairy conferences in South Africa and is attended by local and international milk producers. A host of primary dairy related organisations also attend the conference, as they see it as an important opportunity to showcase their products and/or services. This bi-annual event had its origins in 1999 and its main focus is on offering a learning experience.

During this conference high-level speakers, milk producers and scientists address a number of contentious issues, and highlight new findings and the role that the latest technology can play on a dairy farm. These conferences also give producers an opportunity to measure their own practices against world best practices and to discuss burning issues with experts and fellow producers.

This year’s conference was held at the beautiful Sibaya Casino Lodge, near Umhlanga on the North coast of KwaZulu-Natal. The ambience of Sibaya and the pleasant climate of the region added a touch of class and excellence to the conference and created a very relaxed and positive atmosphere. Clover was one of the main sponsors.
