Ready, steady, Cook Off with Clover and celebrity chefs
The Clover Little Big Cook Off will soon see televisions dripping with celebrity flavour as two of the best chefs on South African shores – Fathi ‘Coco’ Reinarhz and Martin Kobald – join up with television host Zuraida Jardine to bring a world-first cooking experience to life. Over 13 gripping episodes, starting on Saturday, 10 May 2014 on SABC3, families will compete against one another to find out which team boasts the best cooking family in the country.
Parents need to purchase any two Clover Dairy promotional products, follow the instructions on the back of the packs before 10 April 2014 and then they go through the audition process in order to be considered for the show. Zuraida Jardine was just as thoroughly tested before being handed the role of host and judge. Her long list of credentials and warm personality will bring the perfect blend of fun and fabulous to the show, and, of course, her two tots have given her the training she needs to encourage the children as they vie for the favour of the judges.
And who are these culinary masters set to assess the best?
Coco is a Belgian master chef with an Award of Service Excellence from the Restaurant Association of South Africa and not one, but two books to his name. In fact, his first book “To the Banqueting House” won an international award at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. He comes from a long line of culinary geniuses and his grandmother was a Burundian princess with a life story worthy of a Disney movie. He brings fun, passion and a rich chef heritage to the judging table.
Sitting beside him is Austrian-born Martin Kobald who is the Honorary President of the South African Chefs Association and the Global Chairman for the World Chefs Without Borders organisation. Not only does he know his way around a whisk, but he is also committed to making a difference to the lives of others. He is the convener of the Bidvest World Chefs Tour Against Hunger organisation and raised, alongside over 260 other chefs from around the world, an incredible R8 million to feed over 5, 000 children for five years. Who better to bring a love of children, cooking and life to the Clover Little Big Cook Off?
The winning family, chosen by these three talented judges, could win prizes valued up to R1 million that include an all-expenses paid family holiday to Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, USA for seven nights to the value of R300 000, sponsored by Clover S.A. (Pty) Ltd. as well as a kitchen makeover worth R300 000. The family’s recipes will also be published in the Clover Little Big Cook Off Recipe Book.
