1 onion, finely chopped
5 ml (1 teaspoon) freshly chopped garlic
400 g (200 g x 2 packets) bacon, diced
30 ml (2 tablespoons) freshly chopped parsley
375 ml (1½ cup) cheddar cheese, grated
45 ml (3 tbsp) chutney
500 ml (2 cups) fresh bread crumbs
2,5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) salt
pinch of red pepper
500 ml (2 cups) Clover full cream milk
5 eggs
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Melt enough butter and fry the onion and the garlic until tender.
Add the bacon and fry for 5 minutes until done.
Add the parsley, cheese, chutney, bread crumbs, salt and red pepper to the meat mixture.
Beat the eggs and milk and pour it onto the meat mixture.
Spoon the mixture in a greased ovenproof dish with a diameter of 24 cm and bake for 45 minutes, or until set in the middle.
Serve hot, or at room temperature.
